MEET OUR NEXT TWO MEMBERS OF OUR CAST…

Elaine Perry – Choreographer, Director, Set Designer with Merrymeeting Community Players, Mid Coast Youth Theater, Studio 48 and St.John’s School in the Bath/Brunswick area from 1996 to 2010. Choreographer for Edwin Drood, Guys and Dolls and Once On This Island at Brunswick High School from 2010 to 2012. Drama Coach for Carrie Ricker School from 2009 to 2016. Actor for Colonial Senior Players in Silver in Three Acts 2022, House of Tomorrow 2023. Currently resides in Winthrop, Maine.

David Marshall Although new to OBP, David is no stranger to community theater. Starting in junior high school, and continuing through life, Dave has been involved in some way. For many years he was an active member of Lewiston/Auburn CLT, Monmouth Community Players and Gaslight Theater in Hallowell. He has taken part in almost every aspect of little theater. The highlight of his theater experience was being the assistant director of A Chorus Line in an exchange to Moscow, Russia in 1993. After that he took a break from the hectic theater life, but when he was asked to take a small role in a CLT production, and was once again was bitten by the bug. In the real world Dave and his wife own Fields of Dreams Soaps and live near the shore of the Tacoma Lakes in Monmouth.

MEET THE FIRST TWO MEMBERS OF OUR CAST…

Kathleen Brainerd has acted in many productions at Gaslight, Monmouth and Freeport Community Theaters (favorite roles are Romaine in Witness for the Prosecution, Valentina Velour in Love is Murder and Dottie/Mrs Claggett in Noises off.

Her first love is Open Book Players where she has acted, directed, learned, and had great fun over the years; she is happy to again be cast by her mentor, Lucy Rioux.

When not acting, she travels the world in her retirement consulting job for the Navy, visits her children and grandchildren who are scattered about the country and enjoys Maine. She is excited to be on the stage with Jeff Brainerd.

Jeff Brainerd has had no theater experience, aside from a walk-on at age 4 at one of his mother’s plays, and many years of running lines with his wife. He retired from the Navy as a Commander after 25 years of active duty. He has enjoyed attending many Open Book Players performances ,and find reader’s theater different in a very pleasant way, He is delighted to be invited to join such a talented group.

AUDITIONS…Something Wicked This Way Comes!

Open Book Players will hold auditions for our seasonal Halloween themed production of “Something Wicked This Way Comes” on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Oak Hill High School, 56 School Road, in Wales. This presentation will include several haunting stories written by Edgar Allen Poe, Kingsley Amis, Saki, among others and will be performed on October 28th and 29th, just in time for Halloween! We are looking for actors from high school age and above. Come and join us for a “hauntingly” good time!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

As Oak Hill High School will have a bon fire on Friday evening as part of their “Spirit Week” celebration, the front parking lot will be closed. But not to worry…the back of the building parking lot will be available for our patrons who are attending the “Frantic Frogs and Other Frankly Fractured Folktales” performance on that night. If you are coming from the Lewiston/Sabattus entrance to School Road, take the second entrance on your right to the school to the back of the school building. If you are coming from the Litchfield/Wales entrance to School Road, take your first left entrance to the school and to the back of the building. The back door entrance will also be open for our patrons. Appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you there!!!
(There will also be someone directing traffic at the main entrance as well that can guide you to where you need to enter.)
