MEET OUR CAST…Something Wicked This Way Comes

Now to meet our last (but certainly not least) Cast Member of our upcoming production of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”…CINDY TURCOTTE

Cindy Turcotte
I have been a part of Open Book Players since it began in 1996. It is and has been such a pleasure to work with all of the board members who have graced us over the years. One of my greatest pleasures is getting to bring to life the words that are written on the pages of the words of such wonderful authors and illustrators. Secondly, getting to work with amazing people who work so hard to offer you the joys of Readers Theatre. In the past, I’ve been president of the Monmouth Community Players, and even acted in a few of their shows. Open Book Players is where my heart is.

MEET OUR CAST…Something Wicked This Way Comes

Featuring our 8th and 9th Cast Members for our upcoming production of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”…JOE AND EVE BLACKWELL

Joe Blackwell
Joe has acted with various theater groups in
Central Maine and Northern Virginia for over 40 years. Some
favorite roles have been John Proctor in The Crucible, Petruchio
in Taming of the Shrew, Oscar in The Odd Couple, Max or Tito in
various productions of Lend Me A Tenor, Starbuck in The
Rainmaker, Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest,
Greg in Sylvia, Mitch in Streetcar Named Desire, and Ben
Franklin in 1776! He’s pleased to be working again with Lucy
Rioux and such a great cast and crew of old and new friends.

Eve Blackwell
Eve is now in her 2nd Open Book Players show at Johnson Hall, the 1st Twain by the Tale back in Nov. 2021. She also was in Reading Rumpus back in Sept. of this year, and enjoyed that because she got to use her Children’s Librarian reading skills. She has been doing some form of theatre since 1979 in all aspects of the art from selling tickets – being one of the leads. Thank You Lucy for letting me still do what I love!

MEET OUR CAST…Something Wicked This Way Comes

Time to meet our 7th Cast Member in our upcoming production of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”…KATHLEEN LEOPOLD

Kathleen is very happy to be working with The Open Book Players for the very first time. She has performed with various theatrical groups both locally and not so locally. Some
of her favorite recent roles include playing Miss Furnival in Black Comedy, Hippolyta in Midsummer Night’s Dream and Viridian in the short film The Memory Keeper. Currently she is working on the short film Freddie which will be shown at the Maine Mayhem film festival this coming spring. Kathleen is thrilled to be working with this talented cast and the most wonderful Lucy for keeping local live theatre relevant. She hopes that you enjoy this spooky show!

MEET OUR CAST…Something Wicked This Way Comes

Cast member #6 for our upcoming production of “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is…KAYLA LEAVITT

A life long Mainer and lover of performing, Kayla Leavitt has only been with Open Book Players for a short time. Prior to Open Book Players, Kayla hadn’t been on stage in almost twenty years (last seen in Mt. Ararat Middle School’s the “Secret Garden”, circa 2005). Her hobbies include yoga, shopping, dancing and all things astrology. When she’s not working she can be found relaxing at home with her husband and three cats: Lonny, Scout and Opal.
